The Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, will pay homage to its most loved mentor, former President of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on his 84th birth anniversary on Thursday. Kalam died as he was addressing the students on its campus on July 27.

The Narendra Modi government will begin declassification of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose files in the possession of the Centre from January 23, 2016, the birth anniversary of the freedom fighter. The Prime Minister made the announcement after meeting members of the Bose family at his residence here on Wednesday.

India has been ranked as the most attractive investment destination in the world for the next three years, according to a survey by Global consultancy firm EY released on Wednesday.

Thirty-two per cent of the business leaders from global corporations polled for the survey said India is the most attractive investment destination in the world, followed by China, Southeast Asia and Brazil.

While the world celebrates the signs of flowing water on Mars, researchers estimate that the Martian pebbles travelled roughly 50 km from their source, supporting the idea that Mars once had an extensive river system and conditions that could harbour life.

Douglas Jerolmack, geophysicist at University of Pennsylvania, and his collaborator Gabor Domokos have devised the first-ever method to quantitatively estimate the transport distance of river pebbles from their shape alone.
