HARYANA SETS TARGET TO HAVE RS 100 CRORE UNDER ‘KANYA KOSH’
1.’Haryana Kanya Kosh’, a fund meant for educational and nutritional development of girls will have a corpus of Rs 100 crore, Chief Minister M L Khattar said today and asked all registered companies in the state to contribute at least one per cent of their profits to it as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
2.Presiding over the first meeting of the governing body of ‘Haryana Kanya Kosh Society’ here, he said those making significant contribution would be honoured.
3.A target could also be fixed for the big companies, the Chief Minister said, adding that he would also appeal to other organisations, institutions and general public to donate to the fund.
PUNJAB GOVERNMENT INTRODUCE MOBILE E-CARDS FOR CASHLESS INSURANCE SCHEME
1.In another first in India, Punjab Government employees/pensioners have been issued Mobile e-cards to provide details of the Punjab Government employees and Pensioner Health Insurance Scheme ( PGIPHIS).
2.Any employee can download on his/her mobile the special App “PGEPHIS” and can look into the details of the scheme, empanelled hospitals, pharmacies, claim status, and authorization status etc. The Punjab Government had launched the insurance Scheme for its employees and pensioners.
3.So far, 4 lakh employees / pensioners have been enrolled and given e-cards. Every employee/pensioner
NAIDU PAYS TRIBUTES TO MARTYRS
1.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu accompanied by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R.K. Dhowan and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice-Admiral Satish Soni laid a wreath at the War Memorial – Victory at Sea – here on Thursday to honour the sailors and officers who laid down their lives for the nation.

UNION BUDGET TO BE PRESENTED ON FEBRUARY 29
1.The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) finalised the dates for the budget session of Parliament that will commence on February 23, with the Union budget being presented on February 29.
2.There will, however, be no curtailment of the session or the recess period on account of Assembly elections in five States due shortly.

N-PLANT PARTS TO BE MADE IN INDIA
1.In a move that could become a model for countries keen for a share of India’s civil nuclear energy pie, India and Russia have set up a working group to locally build components for nuclear power plants of Russian design.
2.This is based on the Action Program signed between Rosatom and the Department of Atomic Energy of India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Moscow in December last year.
3.The three joint working groups set up under the Indo-Russian Coordinating Committee on cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy established in December 2014 are on the nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear energy and scientific-technical cooperation.
IT SERVICES EXPORTS TO CROSS $100 BILLION
1.IT industry body Nasscom said on Wednesday that India’s IT services exports would cross the $100 billion mark in 2015-16 and the sector would clock double digit growth in 2016-17.
2.The optimism comes despite concerns about the impact of the election campaign in the United States, which accounts for half of India’s IT exports and the rise of protectionism in Europe and the U.K. The IT sector, which India’s largest private sector employer, is likely to add two lakh new jobs this year, taking its employeestrength to 3.7 million.
3.It expects another two lakh new jobs in 2016-17 with an expected 10 per cent to 12 per cent growth in exports at the present currency valuations.The domestic growth is expected to be between 11 per cent and 13 per cent.
1.The Public Private Project Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) and the Empowered Committee cleared six road projects and a ports sector project with a total estimated project cost of Rs.9,672.12 crore.
2.“These include four National Highway projects, one each in the State of Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh and two projects in the state of Uttar Pradesh and one port sector project in the state of Goa cleared by the PPPAC,” according to a government notification on Wednesday. — Special Correspondent
CISCO TO PAY $1.4 BILLION FOR INTERNET OF THINGS FIRM JASPER
1.Cisco Systems Inc said on Wednesday it was buying Jasper Technologies Inc, a startup that connects devices like cars and medical devices to the Internet, for $1.4 billion in cash and equity awards, its largest acquisition since 2013.
2.Legacy technology companies like Cisco have been trying to find paths for growth while new technology developments, such as the rise of cloud computing, threaten their core businesses.
3.The emerging field dubbed Internet of Things, offers Cisco, known for networking equipment, a chance to offer cutting-edge technology to its current customers.
4.In addition to connecting devices to the Internet, Jasper makes a software platform that helps monitor these devices once they are online.
5.Rob Salvagno, Cisco’s vice president of corporate development, said in an interview that the Internet of Things has been a priority for Cisco for the past few years.
RAILWAY HOSPITAL WINS AWARD
