The Odisha government has decided to implement its ambitious Shamuka Beach Project near Puri through a joint venture company. Both Odisha Tourism Development Corporation and Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha would have an equal equity participation in the STDCL, the Minister said, adding that initially both would invest Rs.5 crore.
FIRST CONVOCATION AT SHIV NADAR UNIVERSITY
The Shiv Nadar University (SNU) held its first convocation on Saturday, awarding degrees to 295 students who completed their bachelors and masters programmes. Thirty-one students from the class of 2015 have been selected for higher studies by leading universities like Cornell, Columbia, New York University, Dartmouth, RMIT, Delhi School of Economics and Georgetown University. In terms of placement for the first batch, 95 per cent of the first graduating class have been recruited by organisations like Amazon, PWC, Cognizant, Tata, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, Dell and Schneider, among others.

India’s tallest man and Asia’s second tallest one — Kolipaka Gattaiah (40) — died of heart attack while undergoing treatment in ESI hospital in Hyderabad on Saturday. Gattaiah started growing at a phenomenal rate at the age of 11 and reached 7.6 feet by the age of 18 years.
