26TH NOVEMBER TO BE OBSERVED AS ‘CONSTITUTION DAY’
The Government has decided to observe 26th November as ‘Constitution Day. On the day in 1949, the constitution was adopted which came into force on January 26, 1950 marking the beginning of a new era in the history of India. This year, the country is celebrating 125th birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar . The ‘Constitution Day’ will be a part of these year-long nationwide celebrations. This will be a tribute to Dr. Ambedkar , who played a seminal role in the framing of the Indian Constitution as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of Constituent Assembly.
HISTORIC WEEK-LONG BALIYATRA FESTIVAL BEGINS
Over one lakh revellers thronged both the festival grounds near the majestic Barabati fort on 25th November, the day the historic Baliyatra festival was inaugurated on the occasion of Kartika Purnima.State Finance Minister Pradeep Amat, in presence of Industries Minister Devi Prasad Mishra and Culture Minister Ashok Panda, inaugurated the festival.The week-long festival is likely witness a footfall of over 1.5 million people as over 1,500 makeshift stalls would be showcasing here a wide range of products, including ethnic items brought by artisans from across the country.

This year will be the hottest on record and 2016 could be even hotter due to the El Niño weather pattern, the World Meteorological Organization said on Wednesday, warning that inaction on climate change could see global average temperatures rise by 6 degrees Celsius or more.
INDIA’S OIL IMPORT BILL LIKELY TO DIP 35% TO RS 4.73 LAKH CRORE IN FY’16.
India’s crude oil import bill is likely to dip by 35 per cent to $73 billion this fiscal as global energy prices slumped on weak demand.India had imported 189.43 million tons of crude oil in 2014-15 for Rs 6.87 lakh crore. This fiscal the imports are projected at 188.23 million tons, almost the same level as last year. Fuel consumption registered a robust growth of 17.5 per cent in October to 15.2 million tons. Except for kerosene, all other products recorded a positive growth.
FIRST REUSABLE ROCKET LAUNCHED AND LANDED SAFELY BACK ON EARTH
Blue Origin’s New Shepard vehicle, named for Alan Shepard, the first American in space, is designed to carry passengers to space for a short, suborbital flight. For this test, the rocket blasted up to 329,839 feet, putting it 62.4 miles (100.5 km) above the Earth’s surface, just over the 100 kilometer mark that many call the edge of space. When the rocket came back to Earth, it’s booster reignited to slow the craft down to only 4.4 miles per hour at the landing.Blue Origin made history as the first to safely land a vertical rocket.
HERO MOTOCORP’S PAWAN MUNJAL IS HIGHEST PAID DIRECTOR AMONG LISTED PRIVATE COMPANIES
Hero MotoCorp’s promoter Pawan Munjal emerged as the highest paid director among the top listed private companies, taking home a pay packet of nearly Rs 44 crore last fiscal, followed by two other executives of the auto group . Desh Bandhu Gupta, chairman of Lupin, earned a salary of Rs 37.58 crore, while Larsen & Toubro chairman A M Naik drew an annual remuneration of Rs 27.32 crore. Among others in the top 10 are Bharti Airtel’s Sunil Bharti Mittal (Rs 27.18 crore), Vinita Gupta, CEO of Lupin (Rs 24.86 crore), Hindalco MD D Bhattacharya (Rs 21.59 crore), TCS MD N Chandrasekaran (Rs 21.28 crore) and Ultratech Cement’s Kumar Mangalam Birla (Rs 19.04 crore).
NPCI RELAXES NORMS TO CLAIM PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER FOR RUPAY
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has relaxed the time period to claim personal accident insurance under RuPay Classic cards to 90 days from 45 days, with immediate effect.The card holders will have to carry out at least one banking transaction within 90 days of accident including the accident date, to be eligible for the personal accident cover.The card holders are entitled to a sum insured of Rs 1 lakh under personal accident insurance-death and permanent total disability.
LIC EMPLOYEES AGREE FOR 15% SALARY HIKE, 5-DAYS WEEK
The management of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and the unions representing around 1 lakh employees of the insurance behemoth have agreed on a 15 per cent wage hike, which will be effective from August, 2012. The new wage package does not cap an increase in the basic salary unlike in the case of bank employees, who also sealed a wage hike package in May with a similar hike. Bank employees can have their basic pay revised upwards only to the tune of 2 per cent per annum. The new pact offers a 15 per cent hike in salary, which includes a 13.5 per cent increase in the basic pay and a 1.5 per cent raise in allowances like HRA, CCA (city compensation allowance) and daily commuting allowance.
