The Assam government through an order has withdrawn the ban on manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of Niyor Packaged Drinking Water in the State.

Renowned litterateur Subhash Chandran’s ‘Manushyanu Oru Aamukham’ has been selected for this year’s Vayalar award. A jury headed by M K Sanu picked Subhash Chandran for the honour. Sanu informed that the award prize has been raised to Rs 1 lakh.

The Missionaries of Charity has decided to discontinue all adoption work in India, a statement issued by the organisation, set up by Mother Teresa.The announcement comes in the wake of revised guidelines of adoption issued by Ministry of Women and Children Development where it has stripped adoption centres of the right to approve or reject prospective adoptive parents.
